Easiest wayto remove the stock wiring from the handle pole?

So. I want to remove the stock pole on my 06 SJ and am hoping someone could give me some quick tips on removing the wiring from the start/stop switch. I thought I could just pull the switch apart and remove the wires but it doesn't look that way. do they come from the inside of the boat? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Unplug them under the hood and pull the pole off.
