EDIT: hood seal advice (stiffest seal)

I've been out of the standup game for a while, but used to be HEAVILY involved.

HOOD SEAL: back in the day firmer seals to prevent compression and loosening of the hood latch were the thing. I put a HydroTruf seal on (I recalled they were a stiffer one???) but my latch comes loose with hood tricks or landing on the hood. What is the best hood seal to prevent the latch coming undone????

Wear Ring: Ride a lot of salt. Wear ring on my original ski is swollen and impeller is locked up. This is mostly teaching people to ride ski, so I don't want to spend a ton (I see Watcon has stainless wear rings but $320). My main ski has the plastic wear ring, but I forget who makes those and not finding in searches.

Seal is for a 1996 SuperJEt, wear ring is for a 1990 SJ (OLD SKOOOOOOOOOL)

Note: for hood seal I already have Blowsion latch/brackets/straps etc so I'm good on having tight hardware.

Hi, I am looking for advice on the same Hood Issue. Seal is compressing, and latch coming undone with hood tricks. Thanks!
Take a piece of turf and glue it to the latch assembly on the hull side, when you go to attach the hood latch, this will make it pull the hood down tighter. Had to do this on my Superjets.

Yea I did that. Maybe I will double it up. I also just took a spare latch i had, drilled and tapped 3 holes into the top of the hook for set screws so i can increase the pressure on the hood. However, i failed to realize that this will negate the hooking action if i go too tight (the hook will just slide right off the latch).
