SX/SXi/SXi Pro Electrical/Ignition problem

About a month ago I let my buddy take out my 95 sxi, & long story short water got into the electrical box. Took it to a kawi dealer and they told me I needed a new CDI/Igniter, so I bought one put it in, and it still won't start. It has spark now, good compression, and fuel, but won't start. Wondering what might be the cause of this? Or what I should look in to?
Thanks for your help.

If you have spark, fuel and comp it should be running. You gotta be missing one of them in the cylinder if its not starting. will it start and die or not start at all?

If you have spark then its not a problem in the e box, I would suspect fuel or timing. Like others stated, pull the stator cover and look at the pick up coil and the key in the flywheel. also look for debris in the flywheel area. My bendix just came apart and could have caused the issues your describing. when you pull the stator cover make sure the bendix is retracted and not contacting the flywheel.

Hey guys sorry for the late response. Just got an opportunity to work on the ski. Turns out it isn't getting spark, even after I replaced the CDI. Wondering how I might go about figuring out where the electrical malfunction is????
thanks

How did water get into the Electrical box? Did the Engine Compartment become Flooded? if even the Lower part of the engine was submerged you may want to check the Stator Compartment.
When you replaced the CDI Did you disconnect and Dry all of the Connections in the Ebox, and then reassemble with Die-lectric grease?
