Electrical problems??????

I can't get my ski to turn over, the switch clicks and completes the circuit, but nothing. I have ohmed out all my connections and they are solid, no breaks or corrosion, the switch is showing 12.9v on the starter side of the switch. the cable from the switch to the starter was solid too. I pulled the front cover and the bendix is good too... The starter I am using is rebuilt and should be good, but w/ all the connections checking out I don't think it could be anything but the starter.

Any advice here, cause I am stumped!!!! It almost has to be the starter.

Hold the phone, do you have 12.9 even when you are not on the start button or only when you hit the start button?

I recently had the same beef slutty. Hope you get her fixed...

I had water in the ebox and then the starter celinoid locked up and jumping it worked.

But I also crapped my coil and Msd because of all the water...
Oops. I will keep and eye on it now. and always when i am done riding open the fuse spot on the ebox to let any moisture dry.
But that sucks.

sounds like your starter is toast, with no load it will spin, but even not as strong as you would think, now put a load on it, Bendix, crank, etc etc and nothing. That the sign of a bad or weak starter.

no, only when I hit the start button... my last test was:

I attached the red wire from my multimeter to the positive pole on the starter and the black to the ground on the battery hit the button and got 12.9v, then I jumped it and got 12.9... It has to be the starter, right???

yeah, but now in the boat it won't spin up at all... I will remove it and try another one. My bud Ted has another old one that might work...
