Enclosed trailer ski hauler build ideas

Hey guys , looking to turn my enclosed trailer (6x12) into a ski hauler to hold 4 skis stacked up. Going to be transporting skis to ride this year as our local lake is having issues and riding season is right around the corner

was wondering if anyone has photos or knowledge to build a solid set up. I have done research in this thread but havnt see much about people moving 4 skis are once. Any ideas or help would be awesome !

thanks

Yeah a couple top bunks broke one trip to Daytona but it’s traveled from Mn to Florida 4 times and is still good. The top bunks I’d do a bit different now and the bunks all need some new carpet. Maybe I’ll put 2 or 3 inch pvc over the wood and carpet it. Lots of size constraints in this small of trailer but makes for a really good setup for 4 skis, tires, and all the gear we need.

gotcha. Yes maybe I’ll take in the design with more reinforcement. We go to Daytona every year and it’d be nice to have a rig fpr when we take trips to the lakes. Provides security also when we are on river and not near the truck/ trailer. I also use the trailer for multiple things so I don’t want it stuck as just a ski hauler

thank you for the good idea !!

Have mine setup for kayaks on top but you could beef the E track braces up to support more weight . It's really the walls of the trailer you have to worry about

Sick set up! Yeah that’s what I’m worried about. The E track with 1 to 2 skis on it up top would probably rip right off the walls. I think I’m going to build a frame like KMN did above in that video

Ty sir. Yeah that's probably the best way of doing it. Some trailers are built way better than others on the frame tubing and weld quality.

One reason I built the frames was I didn’t know the capacity and strength of the walls. There are just 1” square tubing every foot or so and seemed kind of weak. At least with the frames it puts all the weight on the floor evenly. Some people have some really nice trailer setups and I’d like to upgrade mine.

yeah I live like 100 ft from our local pond but there is a lot of legal bs going on right now so idk where it’s going to go this season. Only building this set up to get all my skis around to ride surrounding states with all the homies we ride with LOL
