Hey Y'all!
I'm about to purchase my first enclosed trailer. The plan is to drive it to Havasu and back (to NC) behind my F-150. I have a couple primary goals and I'm all about function vs. looks if it comes down to having to compromise.
Specs: 6x12x 6.5' tall Freedom trailer, Single Axle, Ramp door, side door
Primary Goal #1: Fit my Helium, a double / queen air mattress, and my 4 wheel beach cart. (For Havasu)
Goal #2: For more local trips, I'd like to fit a utility 4-wheeler plus my Helium, Beach Cart, and ability to still sleep in there. (not sure if this is possible). If not possible, I can put my ski in my truck bed with the tailgate up no problem.
Goal #3: Rig up a way to run A/C in there. I have a nice stand-up A/C unit i can borrow and I figure I oughta be able to vent it through the built in roof vent.
I read everything in the @Twake and @N3vrSat1sfied trailer threads. I'd like to incorporate a lot of what they did, but i haven't seen anything about actually sleeping in a trailer. Is this reasonably possible, or is this is pipe dream?
Something i think would be cool is to essentially have a bed platform that would be stuck to the ceiling at all times, then lower it down when it comes time to sleep on it. It'd float above the ski. I'm thinking some sort of winch system, kind of like a boat hoist, but that's then sounding a bit complex.
I'm looking for advice, and pictures are super helpful!
