I have a 96' yamaha xt350 enduro that has more of an off road tire on it currently. I want to buy an extra rear rim for a street tire and sprocket to switch in and out. I don't know much about bikes, so what do i need to know when buying an additional rear rim? what will work? do I just need to make sure the sizes are the same? are other hubs compatable? whats my best route? For a bike that went unchanged for 18ish years….im amazed there are no good deals on flea bay for a rim!!

I was going to say try to find a complete used setup on ebay but it sounds you've already looked. I'm not familiar with the XT, but a new aftermarket setup is not going to be cheap. If you could find a stock hub and lace up a pro-wheel, moose, etc rim that might be an option. You will need rim diameter, width and number of spokes to determine what rim to purchase.
