Super Jet Engine Blasting

I have a guy who can soda blast my cases and cylinder. My question is what should i do to prepare before sending them to him? Whats the best way to keep the machined parts from getting damaged?

Just degrease them well, and you can tape the surfaces but I don't think it's necessary with soda.

You can also tell him to avoid the mating surfaces.

I do all my blasting at a friends company that does monuments and headstones. They use a a adhesive backed rubber material for their stencils. I use scraps trimmed to the shape to cover surfaces I don't want blasted. I also use granite powder, it's a bit more abrasive than soda but makes easy work of it and leaves a beautiful finish for paint.

Okay I'm just going to worry about taping up the crank seals mating surface and make sure he uses a glass bead material
