Engine refresh /what is it

I bought a superjet from a guy a while ago.

Put it in the water and it was running bad. Rebuilt the carbs with oem stuff. Ran much better.

There was a run away at idle out of the water. Then it seemed fine. Runs good in the water but idle is funky.

I think it’s the crank seals. I dropped it off with an acquaintance/friend of mine who knows what he’s doing.

We almost just pulled the bottom case off and did the seals but it looks like it had a stroker crank possibly. We’re just going too pull it all the way and check.

Any ideas on what crank this is?

I did not see a spacer. It’s been a while since I pulled one of these apart. Your right it does look like oem. My friend was saying pork chop was oem.

It was sbt pistons .5mm over

62t top end. 62t bottom

Should I use the 61x or 62t head gasket? Are they the same?

If I wanted too bring the head somewhere local and get machined, what are the specs? Pump gas safe.

I asked XScream (I’m local/Clearwater fl) but they said there too busy for that.

I bought it, described as running well.

Put in the water and the carbs needed gone through. Then it had an air leak somewhere. It went off too the side for a while. I’ve been busy but I have someone taking good care of it now. Maybe there was some water in the bottom of the hull when it sat. Maybe it was like that from taking possession?

Or? Put new crank seals seal the cases back together clean everything real good ,replace the bendix and run it. Just a thought lol maybe look inside the e box check mid shaft too while it’s apart and get a summer or 2 out of it.

61X 701 and 62T 701 head gaskets are the same, but Yamaha uses 2 different part numbers... go figure lol. But good to 82mm.
They are not the same. I think you meant 64u and 62T are the same??

To the op, 64u head is likely what you gave on that motor. Externally it's the same as the old 61x head (to mount the old style exhaust), but the internal casting/water jacket is same as a 62T.

That ski was swamped and it sat full of water for a while. A prime example of why old skis aren't worth nearly as much as people are paying.

I have had a stator, flywheel look like that before. Was not sunk, but gasket had been leaking and did not know it. Yes, doing nose stabs and such would get alot of water in there......... But my poop was still running. My "Buddy" decided to borrow my stator after his crapped out! Sent me picks with flywheel cover off and seashells in it! They stayed down at the beach for a week after a race in Orange Beach in 2006.
