I picked up a waveraider waterbox to get the exhaust outlet out of the pump area, but then I decided that I didnt want to run it right out the back just to avoid weakening the hull in the rear. So that got me to thinking, what about running it out of the fire extinguisher hole? Anyone see any problems with this? I'm not sure if it would be a good idea mainly because of the outlet pointing up, not sure if this would trap too much water or not.

Opinions?

Would be very load normaly exhaust are under water to muffle the sound
put it out the back but reininforce the fear transome will it's open

one con I have with that would be if its pointing up wouldnt it make the back under ur seat black dunno .......but pass me some beer and pizza..from that avatar

Your mats would be covered in carbon, too loud, and like the above when you board while running your getting hit in the face with exhaust. I did rear exit and it sounds good and a little quick rebound when you jump a big wave and bury the back end. Overall its not a huge advantage but I like it. Every one talks about it weakening the haul but I think you have to be doing some extreme stuff or smashing bottom when jumping for it to really be an issue.

I dont experience getting hit in the face with my exhaust while boarding at all. Because it is on the side, what little water and exhaust is coming out while trying to board from the rear is simply happening just slightly to the left of my head. No exhaust or splashing water directly in my face.

I have never had any issues with the exhaust weakening the rear end either. I hit the surf regularly and unless you bottom out frequently or get monstrous air, I dont see the rear exhaust causing any problems. Just my $0.02.

I figured you would be breathing 2-stroke trying to board while its running but didnt think about the soot getting everywhere, looking back, horrible idea..
