Factory B pipe tuning screws

Picked up a project ski with a factory b-pipe. Top and bottom adjustment screws were drilled out and re tapped with 1/4-20 bolts. The middle adustment screw is seized and stripped out. My question is: how much of a difference do these tuning screws make? I was planning on just backing out the top and bottom enough to ensure that the pipe doesn't get too hot and leave the middle screw at what ever setting it's at.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I had a factory pipe on my 650sx back in the day and I never really noticed much of a difference when adjusting the screws.

Thanks!

They make all the difference. If you do some searching there is a long thread on how best to tune it. Also instructions on factorys website

the biggest thing with the screws is making sure they do actually close and dont leak water. you can hook it up to the water hose and close them all to make sure they actually do seal up and not water through which defeats the purpose of having them there in the first place. assuming they all seal up, opening the top screw 1/2 to 3/4 of a turn from closed with the middle and bottom screws closed works the best for all around riding and a little better bottom end.
