Other FACTORY PIPE: Kawasaki vs Yamaha explained

I see this question posted often: Can I use Kawasaki Factory pipe on Yamaha, vise versa. So instead of replying to every post I see with the pictures explaining the differences I thought Id just start a thread. Maybe it can be a Tech FAQ.

Fitment:
-All FP head pipes can be used on any FP manifold. However, this does not take into account specific hull chamber fitment, only specific fitment of hardware.
-750sx/sxi required its own chamber and will not allow any chamber except 750 chambers. 750 chamber cannot be used on a yamaha.

Take note that complete manifold/head pipe conversion adapter plates are available from Raddudes and blowsion.

This pic is for Comparison of the 750 sx/sxi Pipe only:

Jordan, the difference you're showing in the headpipe angles is caused by the manifold. The headpipes are identical except that the mounting flange on the Kawasaki is taller then the flange on the Yamaha.

You can run both headpipes on kawi but you cannot run kawi to yami

Not according to blowsion!

yes but it is important to note because the difference in angles will not allow certain chamber set ups. For example if you put the kawi head pipe on a yamaha set up the Kawi chamber will not fit!

That is true, but that Kawi chamber also won't work with a Kawi Headpipe on a Kawi Motor, with a 650 / 800 Manifold. The 750 FPP's are the only Kawi pipes that use that oddball manifold angle. The 650 / 800 pipes aren't kicked out like that.

That is the kawi sxi manifold, that is different from all the rest, that one can only be used on kawi standups. If u use the fp mani that came with the sxr pipe or a westcoast mani, then u can interchange headpipes, ive done it many times in different skis.

Not saying I disagree with you but are you 100% positive? according to Blowsion the Yamaha head pipe will not work on kawasakis.
ive ran both yamaha n kawasaki head pipes on my kawasaki setups...

they angle of head pipe isnt different. What your seeing in the pic is the manifold changing the angle.

ONLY different between the head pipes is the face where is bolts to manifold is much smaller. You would simply need to run the shorter yamaha bolts to run yamaha head pipe on kawasaki ski/manifold..

excellent, one more confirmed of the swap. So the only real difference is 4 different manifolds: 61x Yamaha, 62T Yamaha, 750, SXR. Are we saying all the head pipes are interchangeable with each manifold?
