I just rode my SXR with a brand new wet pipe last night using all of FP specs, and it RIPPED. Not even a hint of bog or hesitation. AMAZING low end and even the top was noticeably better than stock. I might try a 2.0 N/S later, but I'm pretty happy for now. I see that all a 2.0 N/S does is drop your pop off almost in half. That's a big jump. My head pipe screws are set really wet right now, but are top 1/4 open, middle closed, bottom 1/4 open.

Feel free to keep the head pipe wet. My dried out pipe melted my gas tank, the foam around my waterbox, and even the foam around my long exhaust tube leaving the water box.

I've read a lot of guy saying the same thing, so I turfed my waterbox and put heat reflecting tape on my gas tank. I hope it helps. How dry is too dry? What were your screws at when it happened?
