Hello,

I finished my trailer project today. you can see part 1 here
http://www.x-h2o.com/index.php?threads/the-more-affordable-trailer-project-pt-1.149393/

fe.JPG We measured out 12.5 inches between the 2x4 to see where we would have to make cuts.

er.JPG Here we cut out the bottom to have the crossmembers showing so it will be adjustable.

photo9.JPG Next step was to mount the brackets for the rails. we used galvanized hardware for this.
We made sure to have the rails stick out a bit in the rear to avoid contact with the metal.
I did not use regular carpet on the 2x4's. I bought it at a marine shop, my cousin has it on his trailer for his boat and it slides easily.

The last part was to paint the trailer with the epoxy paint i bought. But it was only enough for the inside part of the trailer. But it kind of looks cool this way.

I just need to clean up the messy paint on the side rails and it's done.

This trailer cost me a total of around US$875-900. Again i live abroad and everything is more expensive here. so it will probably cost you less. Hope this post helps

poop son http://www.harborfreight.com/870-lb...ailer-with-8-inch-wheels-and-tires-42708.html this is what i use to build the cheapy trailers out of. works great for 2 stand ups

dont get me wrong man u did a great job just seemed real expensive.
Thanks man! I would have ordered one of those if I knew about them. It would have taken a couple of weeks to get here but i wouldnt have mind saving some money. That trailer would have cost me about 5-600$ all the way here. (I live in Aruba) Thats one of the main reasons i bought the one i did since it was already here. It was more expensive but i wouldnt have to wait a couple of weeks for it.

Next time i have to upgrade or build a new one i will def buy one of those

Used Two place trailers here run about $450 to $500 and can go up from their. Mine was $450 and had to have the bunks re-done and the bow anchors re-done so your not that far off in price.....

I like your trailer it's different and has 12" tires, 8" tires spin to fast for me, interesting set up you did :) looks good

nice! I was looking at used trailers in the US before I got this one. If I got one in that price range i'd probably have to pay 25-35% import tax plus shipping. Not sure how much the shipping would be on an assembled trailer, but my jet ski cost me about 450 from California to Miami, then another 450 from Miami to Aruba. so 900 total. So i'm guessing i would be looking at a total of around 850-1000 total. Which is about the same as I payed for this one in total. Once this one gets too rusty I will get a galvanized one.

Thanks! It came out looking a lot better than I thought it would ha
