Fire extinguishers

Where do you find the small fire extinguishers I have seen on some skis here on this site. As well as where is the best place to munt on on a superjet? Thanks for any and all help.

oh no my motors on fire! lemme reach into the engine, next to the gas real quick!
kinda defeats the purpose if the extinguisher melts before you can get it. lol

I second all of your opinions. If the damn thing is on fire I am jumping off and letting if burn then calling the insurance company. But after a $250 ticket the other day I need to get on in there. I don't like the laws as much as the next guy but the laws are the laws.

$250 for no fire ext. ?? That's steep. Where are you at? The water cops around here are strict about it too, so I keep one under the hood.

Wal-Mart has the best price for the fire extinguishers in the sporting goods boating section.

If you're not running the fire extinguisher compartment; I would keep it on top of the battery.

the point of an extinguishers is to help someones other than your boat/ski.

say your parked on an island, and the boat down the line has a small fire from someone taking a flaming shot... if it wasent for your extinguisher the boat maybe saved... but i agree its fkn redicious

I know I would be pissed if my ski or boat or even tent started to burn and the guys I was riding with didnt have an extiguisher because it was too heavy!!!

Most of the time actually all the time my ski isnt in the water I have access to a fire extinguisher. And when its in the water, well, would you rather flip it over or reach for the extinguisher? As for someone elses ski, wouldnt a fountain work better? Not a lot of watercops near me. I havent had a working extinguisher on anything of mine except the big boat where it makes a lot of sense. :sneaky:

yes that is exactly what it is for, which most ppl dont think of and take it out of their boat and end up with a fine that makes you go nuts...had the same problem with the water cops, got a $90 fine and then they tried getting me another time because the yellow pin in the extinuisher was missing but it stilll worked so i got off with another fine of $70 for my "massive wake"

They are scams FTBP

what was your $250 dollar fine for, did they have reason to pull ya over??

Walmart carrys little PWC ones. They fit perfect in the stock RN SJ hood container. If you dont have one of those, strap one in the engine bay somewhere.

all my boats have fire extinguishers
i ride an army corp of engineers lake and the rangers will check when they pull you over, which is not very often.
my 750's is under the hood, so they will have to follow me to shore to see it!
If I crack it in the middle of the lake, I think it would swamp!

Regardless of opinions, it is still the law to carry one! I would definitely not carry one if it was "my choice" but since it isn't, I will. I can't afford a fine on LKN as many people have, that is why this summer I will be fully legit and not have to worry my ass off like I usually do about the lake patrol! I will just find a small ass extinguisher like at Walmart or elsewhere and strap it on the battery or something.
