Hey guys, Im new to the forums.
Ive had a 93 sn superjet for years now and the stator recently went out so its the perfect time for me to do my first modifications on it. I have never done any modifications on any ski and am only averagly mechaniclly inclined from working with my dad while growing up.
Im dropping a 701 engine from a old yamaha xl we had laying around the house
I have alot of questions and would apprieciate any feedback so bear with me,
First is there any large problems im going to run into that maybe some of you have already ran into previously?
From what i understand it would be best for me to go ahead and transfer the whole engine, stator, and electronics all from the 701 correct? is there anything else i should bring over from it?
Also me and my brother used to ride the ski pretty hard growing up so when i have the engine out is there anything i should do as means of reinforcing or checking for leaks etc.... or anything that would benifit the ski while i have the engine out
Im also wanting to get the ski painted, im debating doing it myself or letting a friend do it for us. my question is i dont want to buy a paint gun so have any of yall had any experience in renting one. If so where did you get it and what kind would you recommend renting, or buying.
Any and all information would be helpful. This is definatly going to be a learning experience for me.
