Flat water 360/540 help

Looking for some help and pointers for getting bigger spins. Give me pointers on how to do it. I can get 360s but want to get more air/flare and more rotation. Thanks for any input and help

I dont know the answer to this, but im guessing unless you're already running a 1200/160 than I would assume the answer would be more thrust or "move more water faster and longer" . I guess the answer could also be something like "try a different trim setup"...

Unless you are only looking for technique tips, it would probably help to share details about your ski setup.. and if you're looking for technique tips, you might want to post footage of what you are doing now so folks can chime in with suggestions based on what they see (body position, setup wake, timing, etc.)

This is coming from someone who can barely 180, so I have nothing to suggest in terms of technique with or without footage lol but someone who rides flat water should be able to tell you if you could be doing something differently.

To answer some of these questions. I have a xscream dvx with a dasa 1200 5 port. Xscream 162 pump with a thrust trim. Novi 48 carbs and pfp pipe run wet.

As for the wake I am doing a “u” wake.

I’ll have to look for a decent video or try and get one tomorrow. I don’t usually have a camera person.

A trim system using a rubber coupler will help. Does your thrust at least have the two ears to help prevent some blow by?

Yes my thrust does have the 2 ears. That being said I plan to upgrade trims over winter. Thinking a “ ls-10 large bore
Not *exactly* the same but I went from using the thrust(no ears) off of my 144 onto a 155and I had so much blow by that spins took a solid amount of effort. Now I run ls10 and it was absolutely night and day. Spins are stupid easy

So here is the best info we got simple in a nutshell

- Look to where u want to go, not where u are going, and not down towards the nose ....head, body, ski will follow

It might feel very weird in beginning but it helped us tremendously, same with the flip

U can use the L wake to create easier valley and it will force the ski into the rotating direction, not everyone forte but a good alternative.

I upgraded to a P&P VelociRaptor Trim from that same Thrust Trim this past year and let me tell you, the difference is night and day! At first I was a little skeptical about all the hype out there and thought there is no way that there could be such a drastic difference in performance between the two trims, but dude was i wrong! I don't think you will have any issues throwing down 540's once you upgrade.
