flipping reeds

I have some boyeson rad valve cages and dual stage reeds. Only one set of petals is gapped slightly from the surface of the cage. All of the others are perfect. Do you guys ever flip your reeds around to get a little more life out of them?

I have in the past with the white dual stage carbon reeds with no problems, but Chuck yelled at me last week for mentioning it to someone.

Probably not the best idea unless you are in a pinch.
