Flywheel bolt

Snapped my fly wheel bolt. Cant find one from shops in sydney as they all saying they got to order ftom usa with long delivery time.

Can i use another bolt with the same thread.

Couldnt work out the thread either. Metric 10 and imperial 3/8 where the bolt diameter size but thread dont fit.

Mate, Australian Jet Ski Parts on the Gold Coast stock them. Watty or Link on ozfreeride.com would be worth a try, also. Freight alone from U.S. will make your eyes water. Buy local!

or right here. It's a M10-1.25 cap screw. Since it's required torque is 6.5 m/kg, a high strength screw is indicated. Such as head marking 10.9. The special Yam. fastener does indeed have a 17mm hex head, however you could use a std. 14mm head with a sufficiently heavy flatwasher.

Well i sourced a bolt. Turns out it was wrong bolt. Its must be for older 701. So the thread is shorter up the bolt shaft so i had to grind bolt diameter down so it threads in as the crank has longer thread inside it. Next the bolt is too long. So i grinded head off bolt and need 3 washers to pack it out from the fltwheel. What you guys reckon should i torque it up and use it.

As far as I can tell that bolt has the same part number from 1990 to 2016. Is that even a Yamaha bolt? It looks suspiciously like a Kawasaki bolt! I'd still suggest the sources in my original post. Mostly all they do is Yamaha 701 stuff and they're unlikely to lead you astray...

^^^^ I agree with x2kid, be nice to have the correct bolt. Won't have to worry about damaging the crank, flywheel, stator if it come see loose. As far as torque, I'd go 47 pounds with that bolt
