So, after being into pwc for about 5 months now I noticed this.... carpeted trailer bunks suck bad! Why, because the carpet wears off way fast and is wearing at my hull... while not bad wear, I demand NO WEAR! ;-) and I hate the fact every time I hit a bump on the roads my skis are even more getting pounded by the bunks.
Would a nice foam covered bunk be nice???
I own 2 Yami Superjet and 2 Waveblaster 1s. I have tried adjusting the way the bunks fit the hull and nothing works. So I had a idea. why not first mount the 2x4 bunk where the ski sites on the 4 inch surface. But glue a highly dense foam on the 2x4 so that the ski rest nicely on it. makes scene to me. Also the foam could contour to the hull ribs.
Some my say the it will hold mosture or could delaminate the hull (or at least i head from one) I dont buy a wet bunk can delaminate the hull. If thats the case anyways Ill lift my skis and dry the bunks. AAAH!!! Thank God I love the light little skis! ;-)
So what ya'll think?? Out with the crappy carpet??
