I'm going to be mounting some Dakine X-Laces I picked up in the next few days in my SXi and I have a couple questions. For those of you that use straps - Where do you recommend mounting them? Side by side in the tray with all four sides anchored on the floor of the tray (looks like a pretty tight fit), or side by side with the inner sides on the floor of the tray and the outer sides mounted on the gunwales? Suggestions?
Also, I'm planning on epoxying inserts into the tray to screw the strap bolts into. Is there a specific epoxy I should be looking for? Or just marine grade epoxy at a local hardware store?
