footstrap placement?

when you guys run foot straps, how much of your foot goes in them? i was thinking to be safe, maybe just have my toes poking out of the strap and no more? that way when i come off it i don't mess up my ankle, too bad...

they are going on a B1, if it matters...

you want to run them tight so your toes just stick out...ive seen some dangerous setups with loose straps that could easily break an ankle...
