So can anybody tell me why when a superjet does a fountain the water stream looks perfectly cylindrical and clean but when i do a fountain on my sxr it sprays wide and all messy looking,
Mostly because Yamaha is better then Kawasaki.... Jk. The yamaha has veins in the reduction nozzle that aid in keeping the water straight. I know my buddies sxi dosent. I don't know about the sxr.
It's the reduction nozzle vanes, straightened flow stays in form much better than spinning flow. I believe the STX900 had a 78mm nozzle with vanes and using it bored out to 81mm resulted in a better stream.
I don't I always got carried away, held them too long and Water intrusion issues I quit doing them sometimes I start them I have to stop my self, it's like telling a kid no candy at a candy store
I did a fountain last season at the lake and held it a little too long. Filled the engine compartment and nearly choked the carb with water. The bilge was emptying water for good 10 minutes...haha. Never again...
Wow awesome, that makes sense, and btw ever since i did my hood blockoff mod on my sxr i dont get any water in during fountains its like having an extremely powerful supersoaker lol brings me way back
The 650sx nozzle measures out at 83mm across, and has vanes. It's slightly oval shaped so it's more like an 82 or 81.5mm bore if you really want to get down to the nitty gritty. They work well for a little extra bottom end too.
