FP SXR wetpipe exhaust manifold

Anyone have the FP wetpipe exhaust manifold out of their SXR so I can see some pictures of it? I need to see how it would work with a 750sx ported cylinder to go in an X2 with a B chamber. For some reason, FP is really not much help with non-standard setups.:frown:

The 650 really is too small to get a good seal and decent porting to match my 750 cylinder, the 750 has the wrong indexing and changes the angle the chamber comes off the motor in relation to the hull centerline, I'm thinking the 800 might be the ticket.

Im looking at my westcoast manifold now, opening it up to approx 46mm on the manifold port, leaves plenty of meat for a seal. if you go to 48 it starts getting thin, may or may not seal, and 50mm theres no way

How big are you going?

The FP headpipe is about 47mm, Westcoast might work as its solid on top.

i have all three sitting around. i'll dig out the calipers if you need some info; just let me know what all you are looking at; angle off cylinder might be a little tricky. might be kinda slow with the replies, but i'll be back. note the bolt pattern difference in FP-750 mani to head pipe

from left to right

west coast - 650 i think but was running on 750 with WC pipe

Thats awsome, can you give me some measurements on the inlet and outlett of the Westcoast man. and the 800. Based on the pics, it looks like the Westcoast can work, unless you think the porting gets narrow inside like a stock 650 man. with the diverter. It looks like the top flange will be at the same height when installed also.

I wonder, is the taller diverter in the middle better or worse for low end performance than the one with almost NO diverter?

here is what i came up with off these three. both of the FP manifolds do not have a perfect diameter on inlet or outlet - the west coast is almost perfect circle.

the inlet ports - if i have time i'll find a beaker and give you a volume diff in mL, but busy weekend - happy happy, joy joy.......:banghead:

inside ports -> the west coast looks to be same volume or just a little bigger then the 750 FP mani but maybe not quite as big as the 800. both FP mani's appear to be taller and not as wide and WC shorter, but wider.

my west coast is a little smaller them project ski @ inlet/outlet

height was measured using the bottom of center exaust port studs as a reference point - see pic

height - 74mm for west coast & 750-FP
71mm for 800-FP

Inlet @ Cylinder - 41mm WC , 41-42mm 750-FP, 40-41mm 800-FP

Outlet @ Head Pipe - 42mm WC, 42-43mm 750-FP, 46mm 800-FP

looks like you could easily take the outlet opening to 46mm without any problems.

So the Westcoast is higher than the 800, that helps alot.

Project Ski,

But it will work on a 650 engine using a 650 pipe right? I know it will bolt up I just want to make sure I don't shell out the cash if it won't work. It looks to me there wouldn't be a problem there.

I used my Coffman 650 exhaust manifold on my 750 SS engine with a Coffman 650 pipe in my 650 Sx years back with no problems.

The FPP 650 pipe I have now doesn't use the side mount so everything should be ok.

Thanks for the info.
