Other Freestyle lake ski on a tight budget

Hi

I'm new to jetskis, but i've been racing endurance PWCs for a couple of years here in portugal..

Been crawling around this forum, and damn this has a lot of information!!

I can't seem to come to a conclusion regarding what would be the beste budget setup for lake freestyle!

First question: What hull should i start from? a 300SX? a 440SX? a SQ superjet? All seem to have similar price tags...

And the engine... After higly modding the hull, as some of you already did, what would be a nice engine/pump combo also on a budget? From what couch should i remove it? Kawa ST750? Yamaha waverunner 700?

Let's sum up everybodys toughts on this thread!

If you dont have the money for a 701 superjet right now, save up the money untill you do. It will save you time and money in the long run.

Real question is, will a RN superjet stock or with a B-Pipe be a better freestyle jetski than these two?

AM hulls > stock hulls. Lighter is better, and that 2nd hull looks like a nice hull to ride. Looks familiar, cant put my finger on the name of it though

Both hulls look like old Kawi hulls. The second one looks like a 300sx I believe and the first one looks like a heavy modded JS hull. There are several 300sx builds out there that can be made badass but its a lot of glass work . You are still better off just getting a Superjet and making mods from there. Most all aftermarket hulls use stock rn superjet driveline.

Agreed^ you are talking hours and hours and hours of glass work and crossing your fingers that you didnt create a sweet looking ski that rides like a brick.

the first hull is a heavily modified 550 hull and the 2nd one is a gen 1 hull. there are lots that like the bob hull for flatwater but not much for surf riding. I was once in the same situation. I went with a square nose hull to start. very glad I did, it is very versatile to all different riding
