I always just measured the side rails on the ski and added the top and side portions together to get a straight length (not the plastic pieces you removed). Then just cut the strip of turf that wide. When you go to install it, line up the edges on the top first for cosmetic purposes and fold it around the bend. Trim the excess. The one hard part is the very front of the ski since that's got such a tight turn but the principle remains the same. Start at the top lip and work it around... Heat is helpful on the sides but absolutely necessary on the front.

edit... Patience is your friend when turfing. Coat the ski and turf once, wait 10-20 minutes, coat turf and ski again, wait 10-20 minutes, finally lay the turf on the ski. Anything less on both number of coats and wait time will end in disaster either immediately or soon after.

i use one piece for the nose. cut a strait strip and stick it down closest to the hull edge all the way around. it will be glued to the top and be bent up strait up. then heat the entire strip and wrap it down over the edge. its hard to explain but if you saw someone do it it makes perfect sense.

I used the old front piece as a cut-out guide. Then I cut 2 lenghts of turf for the sides. Sand the side that goes towards the side of the hull at an angle, that way it will fit more snug. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

thanks for all the help gents, one more question so i just cut the turf the the length and width i need go ahead and put my glue on the turf and the ski, start whereve im going to start clamp it down and keep working it around clamping as i go.

If you use contact cement and wait the necessary amount of time clamping is not an issue as it will stick indefinitely whether you want it to or not when the two touch.

No offense but it sounds like you need to read a bit more on the countless turfing threads on here and learn exactly what's going on.
