Fs 50’s epoxy in carbs

Anyone own a set of new Fullspec 50’s? Anyone else have epoxy in their carbs?
Reason I’m asking is because I was skeptical upon receiving my brand new carbs and seeing epoxy in them and was told they were all like that and it was normal. Now I’m getting nice little black flakes of what seems to be epoxy in my return line jet about a season later. Just curious before I tear them down because those flakes are coming from in the carbs.

Not FS, but I had a set of Novi 48s that had excess epoxy in the return hole that was breaking loose. I just took a pick and knocked all the excess out

Did Ed at full spectrum build these carbs? Call and ask him Dylan, he would stand behind his work
Yes, I’ve spoken with Ed on this immediately and he is a good dude and I don’t believe he’d steer me wrong. But I also know that fuel will eat anything away over time!! Just off putting to see it in brand new carbs. The epoxy is on the pump side and the pieces are small black hard bits. They aren’t getting through the filter. Just frustrating to get 15 minutes of ride time on a brand new build and start having issues!

Well, FS, 48 and 49 also have the bomb sight / booster port epoxied in, along with the flange, this goes for i guess any mikuni SBN based aftermarket carbs.
If you dont want epoxy in your carbs, you need to stay oem or go billet :)

Interesting, I’ll post some pics up tonight when i pull them. I’m sure it’s the thin stuff that looked like it ran over the edges of where the epoxy was supposed to be. I’ve never seen epoxy in any of my other carbs but they’ve all been older. And it’s only visible in one of the two carbs which is why I was concerned. Thanks guys

Wanna say my 49fs have grey epoxy, just a dab.
Does yours have black epoxy ?

Was wondering if it could be black rubber fuel line disintegrating internally. ?

Good luck

No black fuel line, clear red from JM.
Whatever it is it’s coming from the carbs and I can’t think of anything besides that epoxy that would look like that. Ski acts up intermittently then I come back to shore and lo and behold a big gooner in my return line. Gonna try to run it here in a minute but I forsee pulling the carbs in my future.

Looks like jb weld. Doesn't look like the epoxy on my carbs or cases. I wouldn't run those at all anymore. I'd send them to the builder and ask for replacement or repair.

Ed is going to repair them. These caps are pressed from the outside in correct? As in they can’t fall into the barrel? I’m on vacation for another 3 days if I can’t run them I’m Fmd

For what it’s worth, SEs have the same plug and epoxy in the same spot. whatever they use fails in 2 rides and clogs the undrilled returns. Everyone just grinds it off and repairs with Jb weld tank weld. I also drilled my returns and run a filter before return jet because I was tired of dealing with clogged internet returns.
