Fuel leak from motor?

Have a strange leak in my hull under the exhaust side.

Completed my build and ran the ski on the stand. Came out the next day to find that I had fuel in the bottom of my hull on the exhaust side. Over night my tank pressurized and pushed fuel into the engine flooding it terribly. Fired the ski and it puked a tremendous amount of fuel out the exhaust. My guess is leaky needle/seats so I purchased new ones yet to install but my main concern is why it leaked out of the motor?

You're right, the needle and seat didn't seal.
When the tank pressurized there was no where for the fuel to go. Fluids take the path of least resistance, in this case it was your needle and seat.
Once that door was open the fuel leaked into the intake, then into the bottom end, when you finally cranked it the bottom end got cleared out and pushed the fuel out the exhaust.

To prevent this you can turn your petco ck to the off position when storing your water scooter.

Ok that I figured as to what happened, no petcock (aftermarket hull), but why the leak under the motor on exhaust side? Anyone ever run into that?

When the skis were in the bed of my truck not too long ago we took the hoods off to trickle charge the batteries for a couple hours before going out and riding.
He left the hood to his tiger craft off and the fuel tank warmed up nicely.
We came back to a bit of fuel in the bottom of his ski. I don't really know where it came from. It was obvious the tank had pressurized and fuel got out but we never really cared to find the source. Just used a water gun to get it out, relieved the pressure and went riding. Didn't have any issues.

It could just be the fuel tank. I know if I leave my jp fuel jug out in the sun without the vent open it'll puff up real big and start to leak.

I'm thinking your fuel tank expanded to that point where it started to leak a little bit like my fuel jug does.

Your other possibility is you didn't put the engine together correctly and there's a small leak in the cases or something related.

I've had this happen once. I didn't replace anything, it hasn't happened again.

I had been storing my skis outside in the summer heat. Tank pressure builds up, pops the N&S and floods the engine.

My solution was to crack the fuel filler cap during storage outdoors. Once they were back inside, no more issues.

That's the answer I wanted to hear lol. Ok, going to replace the needle/seats and see what happens. Thank you!

Had this exact thing happen yesterday! Damn summer heat building pressure in the tank. Going to run a one way valve to let pressure out of the tank.

See that's what I don't understand. I changed the needle/seats last night, fired her and she ran briefly on the stand. Hopefully everything is good when I return home this evening. It did not rev up at all like it would if there was a leak somewhere.
