Fuel reserve amount

I was riding today and apparently ran out of fuel so I switched to reserve and headed back in. When I went to fuel up I had at least 5" of fuel in the tank. Is this about where the main fuel pick up stops? Seems like a huge reserve amount to me.

Yes cause if you have 5 inches left you will appreciate that amount. Also the less gas you have the more likely your engine will sputter and die from fuel sloshing around. Having a good amount of reserve is a good thing!

You're right, it was nice to be able to make it back in. I had never run the fuel that low before and just wondered if the main pickup was proper. My Kawasaki's leave a way less fuel for reserve it seems.

just get rid of the reserve, switch and all that crap...live dangerously!

heck yeah, I went out the other day, too lazy to go get gas, just wanted to ride only had about a 1/4 tank, hit reserve first 2 minutes I was out. Rode in my cove just so I wouldn't have to swim too far, but still rode for a good 15 minutes! I sucking fumes when I was done! But it did seem more fun!
