PUDDLE - BLASTER
Hey guys , I need to remove the reeds from my 95 fx1 , apart from a protec exhaust the engine is stock. Can this be done with the engine still in the ski , or is it an engine out job... ? Any advice would be great....

You just take off the intake manifold. Do a search and download the Superjet Manual pdf, It is also covers the Fx1.

I removed the carb , & the 8 bolts that are on the top of the intake manifold. I can see the reeds but cannot find the bolt or bolts that hold the rest of the manifold to the engine.

That's it, you just need to pull them from there. The gasket is causing it to stick. If it is really stuck you can very carefully go along the edge with a razer blade. There may even be a small indent on each side so you can use a screw driver to help pop them out. Just be careful and work then out slowly.

I got the top off the inlet manifold , but the reeds seem to be inside the lower section of the manifold. Looks like I need to remove this too , but can`t locate bolts... (Engine is still in ski).

There are no additional bolts, probably just stuck by gasket.

Chainsaw or sledge hammer is your best bet for getting the reed cages out.
