i am installing tubbies on my RN SJ

i used 5200 and screwed them down, now i am sanding and prepping to glass over them, my question is, is it ok to sand down the little bit of 5200 left on the outside of the tubbie and just glass over it? its not a whole lot of 5200. should i do something like mix milled fiber and epoxy and "fair" it in then glass over?

any suggestions?

thanks

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
you should be fine... I assume you mean just a little 5200 around the edge of the piece that oozed out when you screwed it down... just sand as much of the area that you will glass as you can and get as much of the 5200 off as possible....

It will not adhere to the 5200.
Any flex in the hull may further detach the glass from adjacent areas that it was previously attached to.

I would take a wire wheel on a power drill to the 5200 - gets it off real quick.
Then use epoxy + filler to smooth it over.
