So I am getting ready to sell my dslr camera since I just never use it. Once I do one of the things I plan to buy is a go pro hd. When I did a search I found they were around $250.

Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper to get them?
Any people on here with a good hook up on them?
Or is there another really good helmet cam that anyone would recommend?

It will be used as helmet cam my ski, street bike, and accational dirtbike trips. thanks

Some like the Tachyon (spelling may be off) but it's hard to beat the gopro. I love mine. It's an HD. I will say though I think the backpack is a tad over rated. I picked that up this year and added it on, but haven't used it much. It is also a tad harder on battery life. But still works awesome. When setting it up, take your time reading the setting options to get it set up the way you think will work best for you. And I have no clue on deals sorry bro...

I don't know which one I got, but it came with a lot of mounting options. And now I am using the wide mount that straps on through helmet vents. But I removed the straps from the mount and epoxied and riveted to my helmet. Very solid and I use a floatie and lanyard for insurance. I'll post a pic when I get back. But it works very well.

I just picked up a new gopro hd motorsports for 260 with overnight shipping, not sure if I can post where I got it from but you can send me a pm and I will tell you.

NVJay775, I like that lanyard idea how do you attach it to the gopro? I have been looking for Ideas from loseing it.

I double zip tie the camera to the lanyard loop. And the floatie gets zip tied in between the bottom of the camera and zip ties. So hopefully if the camera mount breaks and the lanyard breaks too the camera will still float. I'll get a pic of it all set up. Give me a minute lol!

edit: I know if it takes a hard enough hit it's probably swimming. There's another thread on here that has a life jacket for the camera's too. I want one and then just double up on the zip ties.

But here's a couple pics of my current set up.
