ok, here's the deal.
I have a set of used GP1200 sleeves (84mm) that I plan to put into a 61x cyl that has a damaged sleeve. I have a 62t, 81mm cylinder on my ski now.
I was planning on having to remove material to get the GP1200 sleeves into the 61x cyl cast. But, I just saw this ebay auction that made me wonder.

It says: "The 62T cylinder has thick enough sleeves to be bored to 760 without using up all available bores. This is the same casting as a 760 cylinder and it will take the large bores well."
According to this auction's info, from a site member, my 62t cyl cast would need no modification to use the GP sleeves. Also, it states that 62t sleeves are thicker and can be safely bored further than 61x. True?
Also, the port timing looks pretty high on the sleeves, so maybe a 62t cyl cast would be better for this? do 61x cyl really have a smaller cast for the sleeves?
What would YOU do? :reporter:
