Green glue for a pump insert replacement.

I am replacing a pump insert. I have the old insert out and the new one is ready to go in. I need to know what kind of glue to get that is as hard as the OEM glue. I call it green glue. Tough as nails.

What do you suggest? Please give me the name of the glue and web site or a phone number of where I can buy some of this monster glue.

I am sure I am not the only one who has had to do this repair. Some one out there must know the answer. I tried to find the answer by using the search and had no luck. So if this is redundant, my apologies

I don't think it will be hard enough. It has to with stand a lot of pressure. This insert hold one of the pump bolts in. The OEM has a real hard glue and I have read some threads about how hard it is. Looking for the real deal.

90 MPH+ GPR's have their pump shoes glued in with 5200.
It's strong enough for them.

I will check out the Dura-mix and the ultra black loctite.

the duramix gets very hard and dries really quick
im sure you can get slow set but i never do
its kinda pricy
the ultra black is just rtv but its held in a jd pump shoe for 3 years w no cavitation
i get it @ motion industrys like $20 for a cartrige

I've used 3m SMC panel bond to glue the drive shaft tunnel back in stxr.
It's a 2 part green glue you need a special gun to despense. Work time is around 10mins then 24hr cure. Get it at auto body supply.

You can use plexus but it is a two part system that is quite expensive. It is about the same as the green assembly glue that Yamaha uses. I have used the 3m WindoWeld in a caulking tube before which worked great. That was before I knew about 5200. If I ever do one again I will use 5200, plenty strong IMO.

You can get that (green glue) at a yamaha dealer, the part # is mwv-gluet-ub-00, it is lord urethane adhesive #7542a/e, it comes in a mixer tube, I've used this stuff for many things including glueing in foot holds, very strong

5200 has held mine fine. I think superjett has had his that way for years.

The stuff you speak of is called 'grasp'. It's a japanese made product, and if you saw how much it cost, you'd have a heart attack! It comes in a double caulking gun with 10 nozzles. These nozzles mix the two parts when the adhesive is squeezed out.

In light of this, I use Sikaflex marine grade sealant, 526 I think it is. It's a UV stable adhesive that is super strong, and I think might be the equivalent to 5200.

That is the Duramix............SMC Panel fuser. The black really dries quick, the green is slower.

X2. It sounds like you are replacing an insert for a pump bolt. I would use 404 filler/epoxy mix if so.

The stuff I used was called 3M Automix 8219 Adhesive
SMC/fiberglass panel adhesive with 30min work time, 2hr handling time & 24hr cure.

if you want the equivalent to OEM get with RAMJET and borrow some PLexus wont take much. But I have used EPOXY w/ 404 and PC7 and seen 5200 fast cure work just fine too. You can also use WINDSHIELD GLUE (BLACK STUFF) I have seen that stuff hold up for 10+ years on a pumpshoe.

Wamiltons also sells some type of two part epoxy adhesive that is super thick and is supposed to work good. Frosty just used some, PM him if you have questions.
