H2o Designs Torrent Pump

I'm looking for some info with props for the torrent pump. I am hoping to find people that are tuning this pump on a 700 series power plant still.

The 6/12-7/12 prop sounds kind of unreasonable I guess for surf application.

Is anyone buying the pumps and than getting their own prop from Skat ?

Some of the testing we did years ago on Torrents we did on 701's. 6/12-7/12 is not out of the question and sounds close. Surf, weight of hull/rider, ride style, pipe, nozzle, pump cone size, head, compression, ignition, carbs, reeds, etc all play into it. Also are you shimming prop, or cutting it back ? Do you like the power low, high mid to high, mid to low? Those are all questions you should be asking and searching for while tuning and chosing whom to buy your impeller from. If you just ask what impeller to use with a 701, you will get a basic answer. Those sizes are close. You know how your motor hits now compared to your buddies stuff, relay that to the seller or tuner and he will get you closer.

FYI, in the interest of full disclosure I am riding the TORRENT sponsored ski, so.....

Thanks for the info.

I will be switching from my Solas 144 Mag w / 9-15 Hooker w/ 3mm cutback and a B Pipe to a TNT Freeride Pipe and the H20 Torrent (Setback Pump).

My boat hit really really well in a full size surf boat (Rickter FS2) with a Basic 62T motor Msd Enhancer, Ada Girdled Head w 35cc Domes. I had no modification to the Nozzle or pump cone. I am switching hulls to A Tigercraft Sv1.

My B-Pipe Setup hit very well down low and that's what I would prefer surf application because that is all I ride. I do not know what to expect changing over from a B Pipe to a TNT V2 Pipe ( I've heard the power doesn't even compare from reading forum post.)

Okay so were on the same page talking to the same people. That is a huge deal. You have to pick a guy, or crew and stick to the plan.

SV-1 with TNT will be great, next change is the 701 :)

144 solas w/9/15 to 148 whould be a 7/12 cut back, H20 goes with 5mm not 3mm for tighter low end hit. It may load the 701 more than you like and kill the power, but the TNT with water inj will make it hit harder down low and should compensate leaving snap and great mid range. Recomend boring the reduction and steeing with larger pump if you want the low end hit more. Try it first, you can also put the smaller H20 cone in to make it like it was bored. Quick easy change. The top I cannot comment on yet as the pipe is too new and i havent tested with a 701.

Sweet, that will probably be all I can afford for this reason I would say. I am planning on a Jetworks Ported Cylinder and that means taking my 62t off and putting a 61x cylinder on if I do happen to touch anything motor wise this season.

I'm guessing for a bigger motor setup you would use one of the H20 9/15 Thin Blades ?

I know most of the people have the TNT Pipes on the 964 motors or above. It would be nice to know how these setups work with a 700 Platform , but like you stated it is way to new at the moment.
