FX-1 Hacked Fixed steer fx1

I'm starting to make my fixed steer fx1 hood right now. I grew riding bmx, then I had an x2. The x2 was fun but it was a turd. I tried out a few different pole skis 750 sxi pro, and then the fx1. The way the fx1 can be thrown around is just awesome. So i think that coupled up with a fixed steer it could be a very fun ski. I might be wrong with this thinking but I wanted to try just because. LMK what you all think, good or bad. It should be rideable in a few weeks.

Hey twinturbostang I was hopein you might chime in. This is the accusteer stem I bought from you a couple weeks ago. I've seen all your fixed steer builds an I really wanted to try my own. The fx1 has the kawi 140 pump already swaped in so that problem is taken care of. Now just the fab work. I might get it water tested this week but plans can change. I want to get it completely dialed in before wavedaze (oct 6). It might possibly make it to the mj cup this weekend in a ugly looking way. We will see.

No, I'm tig welding an aluminum frame under the hood that is kinda like a pole style but it goes all the way down to the tray latch area. I'll take some pics tonight. This is my first go at this so it might not work perfectat first. Time will tell.

I always thought a fixed steer fx1 with the right pump setup and tubbies would be a cool ski. I regret not trying it to one of mine when i had them. Keep the pics coming.

IMG_0185.jpgIMG_0186.jpgHere's a couple quick pics of the underside of the hood. I have some of the pieces just tacked in place but you get the point. my next struggle is going to be the stupid hood liner, i'm not sure yet on how i'm going to go about that. any suggestions would be a huge help.

So the maiden voyage went pretty well. Other than my absent hood liner and water intake the day was great. The feel is tough to describe. The fixed steer made the ski so much more controlable, and that made me more confident. The steering stem seems to be in a good location, but I have nothing to compare it to, it rides very neutral though. This made the boat even more fun, 100% thrilled with the way it rides. Now I just need to seal up my hood so I can start rolling.

ah man i never got to see this bad boy.... was a shame most the free riders at the mj cup kept the skis around the other side of the trees
