Was reading the Cold Water thread and remembered about Handwarmers. I did that mod year ago. I found that it really just kept my hands colder than warmer......... Who still rides with them? You know, where you run a water line up your pole and split it to the grip areas.

im planning on using the stock fuel selector to direct it to either my feet coming out of the holds or to the bars. should be nice to have.

i put them on that rickter just so i didnt have to drill and put another pisser. every time i start riding and feel the sensation on my hands, i think, what the hell? and then remember the warmers.

When you do this, do you run 3/8 all the way up then split to each side of the bars? Or do you split down to a smaller size?

Yes. Single line up, the "T". I cannot remember what size hose I used, think it sitting in a bucket in my shop...... May have to break it out for Daytona!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

i taped into my standard cooling 3/8" line coming off the head and ran a gas line up the pole to a 'T' for each grip. I also put 2 small stainless ball valves in; 1 up stream of where i 'T' the gas line in so i could regulate how much water was being pushed threw the hand warmers and another in the 'gas' line so I can also turn them off completely during the summer. Here is a link to the valves that i bought...not made for gas (jetworks valve would work as well but more pricey) http://www.amazon.com/Inline-Ball-V...=1384889494&sr=8-5&keywords=keg+shutoff+valve Keeps my hands and feet nice and toasty and I can control the flow based on weather.

Hand warmers are the best $5 winter time comfort mod you will ever do- because when your hands are cold, your whole body feels cold

i found it best to tap the center of bars and feed the water into them. i drill few small holes in front top of grips to let water out onto hands and one hole aimed to spray throttle finger/lever. my buddy has the same but just has ends of bars open for water to flow out. the heat makes its way into grips, just not as well. i also have a small sprayer that sprays out from middle of bars to warm the gut..pic of how its plumbed on our freaks.. also have a 1/4 turn plastic valve under chin pad to turn it on or off while riding.

Ya I just used 1/4" fuel line and the stock fuel selector to control it. Worked great. I tapped it into my handles bars and drilled holes where my fingers go. So the water fills the hallow handle bars and oozes out into your fingers.

taping the bars is deff the way to go,keeps the water in the right spot, all the time,if the water is too cold restrict your other over board harder, good way to know how warm your motor is running in very cold water temps also

I have hand warmers and a pisser in the tray for my feets. I had to restrict bc it was still too cold. I use 5/16 up the pole to a tee. And tee from head pipe is restricted the 45 degree pisser to the tray.

I resisted for the first few years down here in the south but I must be getting acclimated now because I finally broke down and installed hand and foot warmers last season. I didn't care much for the hand warmers but the one in the tray was awesome.

ScottS tapped a third line off his hand warmers an directed it onto his torso so his entire body was kept warm. If you ever got to cold, all you had to do was flag Scott down and act like you wanted to try out his ski, lol.

A pair of 1.5mm wetsuit style gloves do the trick perfectly in water deep into the 40's. A pair of 3mm keep your hands warm in any water temp but make it a little tough to get a good grip on the bars. And a pair of 7mm boots keep your feet warm. I don't quite understand the whole hand warmer/foot warmer theory.

Since the weather doesn't really get cold enough for long enough to warrant buying a full set of heavier riding gear, why not just redirect the water that is already there? As mentioned above, it's a $5 mod.

I had a problem running a smaller line up the pole, there was not enough pump pressure at lower rpm to push water up. If you do the mod run a larger line up then split.

I ended up over heating my front bore from the stagnant water in it . That was just a light heat seize not enough to affect compression but enough to raise caution.

Ya i just bought warm gloves and boots....Besides it still keeps hands/feet alot warmer then this and we wear that setup in our area from Oct-Dec, March-May lol.

I used 3/8 all the way.....T'd it off at the turn plate....and drilled a tiny hold in that T....it hit me in the vest and ran down my legs.....or if I got low it would hit me in the neck and go down....it is nice to have for sure!!
