Freestyle Handle Pole Breather Explained?

Building up a stand up as we speak. Needing to make a handle pole breather and bracket and had a few general questions. I'm sure this has probably been covered but couldn't find the info I needed.
1. Does the tubing seal into the pole so the incoming air comes in by the handle bars?
2. What tubing O.D. and type should be used?
3. Does is 1/2" aluminum plate sufficient for a custom bracket?
4. Anyone using RTV to ensure a good seal or is it not crucial?

It's not a perfect seal. The idea is just to get some air into the bilge area if the hood breathers are obstructed, and to not let a bunch of water through the bracket holes.

2. What tubing O.D. and type should be used?

Usually 2-3 inches

3. Does is 1/2" aluminum plate sufficient for a custom bracket?

Depends on how you ride, if you use a limiter rope, how good your fab skills are. Most a/m brackets use thick billet aluminum or thin stainless

4. Anyone using RTV to ensure a good seal or is it not crucial?

As far as know, it doesn't seal to the pole.
2. What tubing O.D. and type should be used?
That is dictated by the size of hole in the handle pole bracket typically.
3. Does is 1/2" aluminum plate sufficient for a custom bracket?
Yes
4. Anyone using RTV to ensure a good seal or is it not crucial?
3M 5200 usually, Silicone in a pinch. Not cruical... the goal is to let air in and not water.
