Hauling a jetski, Truck bed or trailer?

I am purchasing my first ever stand up. I wanted to know how practical it is to haul it in the bed of my truck or if i need to invest in a little trailer. It would be nice to have the ability to pull the boat at the same time. Can a few guys carry it to the water? Does anyone dump it at the ramp? i know how slippery the launch ramps get... Any input?

Buy a full size chevy pickup and then lower it 5/6. Perfect height for standup loading and unloading at the ramp, you barely even lift putting it in.

Hi,

2 guys can do it, 3 is better, and with 4 it's a breeze. I usually drop the boat or other skis first and the pull out and back in jack knife the trailer a bit to get easier access to a ski in the truck bed. Have fun :)

I've used a 4x8 Utility trailer the past 4 years however this summer I purchased a 2015 Freak and refuse to put it on the trailer to save it from rock chips. I made 2 2x4x6' rails with a simple bracket to connect the two with a winch to raise and lower it. Cost maybe $75 all in and lets me close my tailgate in my 6' box with the ski and both rails in the back. I'm able to launch and load in 5 minutes solo.

All depends on what you're concerned about. Pros and cons of everything

I like using a hitch hauler on the back of my truck so you can load and un load by yourself.

Hitch hauler and beach cart are the two best inventions if you have one ski. If you get a cart with good tires and a wench then you should have no issue doing it alone.

I can slide it semi easily off the hitch hauler onto a short cart when I get home for solo sessions. We modified a joe hauler to carry my dirt joke or my ski

@CHRIS@EZ-SKI builds hitch haulers that accept a receiver so you can haul your boat at the same time. He has been known to do whatever custom work you would want for your hauler without b!tching about you wanting something different.

Be aware of rust dunking your whole back end though if you go any option other than a trailer. I think youll find also that in time youll get tired of taking both the boat and jetski And just do one or the other.
