Hauling my jetski on my pontoon boat ideas

If any one has done this before I am looking for ideas. as of right now I was thinking of attaching a wheel chair hoist (like attached pic)to the side of the boat. then all you would have to do is lower it in to the water and float the jetski on it and then just winch it up. I would have to reinforce under the boat some, and when not in use the lift platform could be folded out of the way. Any one se any drawbacks to my ideaImageUploadedByTapatalk1432427450.057124.jpg

I'm looking for ideas on how to load and unload the jetski from in the water while in the water in the middle of the lake

Not sure how much the wheelchair hoist is, but this setup cost me under $200. Half ton hoist, 3500lb winch with wireless remote and a jet ski sling for sit downs. Could be tricky using the remote while in the water, doubt its waterproof, but this thing worked very well.

Good thread, how are you planning on mounting that on the boat deck?I've been looking at pontoon boats myself. There was a thread about this on here not too long ago, I will check and see if I can find it. I think @swapmeet posted a nice looking system for loading skis onto a boat deck.

I was going to run some bracing under the cross members under the deck and then attach a hitch receiver on the bracing and have the hoist mount in to the receiver at the front of the boat so it can be remover when not in use I was wanting to have it out the side but I think the boat deck sits to low on the potions to fit any thing on the sides
I was also thinking of having a ramp of some kind mounted under the boat that could fold out the front and the ski could be pulled up in between the front door (I have 1 inch of extra space to fit the ski in between the door space) but not sure how to have it mounted with out the ramp vibrating when just going to a boat ride

That looks neat but it looks like it mounts on the back of a boat and I have no room in the back to put a jetski and the reason I don't want to put up a crane is I want it to look nice (now I'm just being picky lol)

Looks like you have thought this through. I'm just starting to look at Tritoon's and noticing how narrow the passage between the front seats is on some of the models. I won't buy one that I can't get a ski up on the deck.

There's a family that comes to havasu once in a while that have a huge tritoon that is complete flat deck for the first half and it has two cranes mounted, they carry a blaster and sxr up front, sweet setup, wish I had a pic.

I built this to go on the front. It may double as a beach dock.

something to think about would be strengthening the floor where you have the lift attached. most pontoons are just marine grade plywood so I would take a flat piece of aluminum and use it to sandwich the wood.

what about one of those deals that they used to have to slide pwcs into the bed of a truck ( some had small whels all the way down and some were just ramps with PVC runners. The folded in half and had a simple winch at the top. The ramp would fold down into the water using the deck of the pontoon to rest against.

Swap meet that's what I'm in the process of doing. Have the crane. How much reinforcement did you do for the base of the crane? I was debating a plate on top and bottom to disperse the weight a little.
