Havasu WFs ending this year?

Last year at awards banquet they announced an approval for 10 more years at Havasu. Unless something changed, the location is approved to continue to be held there.

Thanks.. There was an article in Watercraft journal last season about IJSBA applying for permits in Florida. Maybe that has changed or was mis-information. I do like Havasu, sure hope they can keep things rolling.

In my opinion Florida weather would be too unpredictable this time of year. Hurricane type weather would put a serious damper on the event and with all the international travel that would be a terrible waste of everyone’s time and resources to chance the Florida weather.
Havasu is basically the same weather everyday, year after year...Warm and dry. Occasional thunderstorm that blows through but nothing that will impact the entire event. I hope it stays there too, very fun city!

Yeah man I agree on the weather. I’m in route this year just for that, sit in the sun and watch some ski racing. A friend I usually go with also mentioned he was bummed because final year of WFs. I was like damn.. Is that fact?

I attended the Naples Florida World Championship last year and did have a good time. The event was well organized. The venue was good but relatively small compared to Havasu. There was surprisingly less vendors and pro riders. The pond water was a bit murky, so no way was I getting in there! Naples a cool town though.

What a sh!tty April Fools joke if that is true. Especially from a publication like that. It’s hard enough to get participants to race. It takes 2 years of planning to get to Havasu with a prepped ride from some locations. (including mine). I’m glad to hear it will keep moving forward.

I heard that this would be the last year as well in Havasu. I know the FL move was an April Fool's joke but they are actually moving it over to CA next year. I don't know the exact location but somewhere close to the desert area so it will be similar to Havasu weather. The reason for this is because it's the last year of the 2 stroke Superjet and the 2021+ are going full electric (Yamaha confirmed last month) so CA is the perfect place for World Finals since it will be zero emissions now.

I will wager a Franklin on everything you said is 100% false

Week before Columbus Day 2020 World Finals is once again in Lake Havasu City. Right from Scott Frazier 2 minutes ago at Awards Ceremony
