Helmet recommendations

What kind of helmet is recommended for racing stand ups? Should I get a down hill mountain bike helmet or a dirt bike helmet?

I believe you have to have one with a DOT rating. Most downhill mountain bike helmets dont have that.

Dot rating is required for racing. The tech inspector at races will typically check for the rating to be shown on the helmet somewhere. I have used fly f2 and fly formula carbon helmets, they are great.
