Help: blowing through reeds

The last two rides I have eaten up reeds on the front cylinder. The first set I knew had been cracked from water ingestion, then I replaced with vforce reeds and first ride out I lost a petal. Any ideas What is causing this? Also on the new reeds I tested my ski once before losing the deed for about 5 minutes, found out I had a stuck needle valve in the carb. Could the lean situation have caused them to crack? Also pumped the primer to diagnose fuel issue, could it have been the lean/rich/lean? I'm stumped here

Only if it was fuel logged. Some situation as water logged.
