Super Jet Help identify line

I just picked up a 650 SJ that has been sitting for a long time. I was wondering if anyone could identify the line that has the "T" on it with no hoses coming off the sides. It goes into whatever is sitting below the pipe (exhaust manifold?)and there is another line that comes from there and goes to the head. I am thinking it is a cooling line but not sure where the hoses coming off of the T would need to go when I replace them.

^ yep.

i assume your planning on tearing apart that motor before you run it? if you need a replacement exhaust for it i have one for cheap.

I had originally planned on just rebuilding the carbs, replacing fuel lines, returfing and rocking it. Then I saw a post about internals getting rusted if the engine sits with water in it. Now I am not sure what to do, I didn't really want to have to tear the whole thing down but I may have no choice because I don't know if there was water sitting in it.

Should I test compression before I pull it apart? Have a buddy bringing me a battery and his compression tester this weekend. The back story is a guy rode it bone stock for about 3 years then parked it 2 years ago outside with no cover. When I pulled the hood the bottom of the engine compartment I could see a tiny bit of water. Will I ruin anything cranking it just to check for compression? Then I would at least know if it needs top end work before I pull it apart. What should I look for when I tear it down?

water in engine bay is way different then water INSIDE case/motor

spin motor by hand... if she feels n sounds smooth then go ahead n comp test her.

u can put few drops of oil in cylinders to make sure shes lubricated... but keep in mind that will cause Compression to be slightly higher

If you want to skip the whole 650 thing, I have two solid running 61x 701 motors for sale.

450 shipped each for longblock with no electronics.

Put on your 650 electronics and run. They still have stock exhaust and everything.

If I had the cash I would be all over that. I am currently in saving mode after buying the ski and trailer.
