Help needed picking a new engine or mods

I am looking for more power than I currently have. I am running an 08 superjet with bpipe, head, enhancer, lighten flywheel, and 148 mm mag pump. The idea is to upgrade the motor this year then move it into a AM hull next year. I want big upgrade in low end.

My ride style is mostly hitting boat wakes and chasing the wakes I like as well as transportation to and from friend's lake houses and practicing setup wakes and tricks. I want something that will rip low end and still be able to cruise at 40+ mph for extended times.

Any ideas would really be appreciated.

I don`t have much as far as motor mods, but I can tell you the lightweight hull mod is the best mod. I went from a 384lb waterlogged SN and dropped the stock 701 stock exhaust, stock pump with a hooker 9/15 wet wolf tail cone into a carbon superfreak and it rocks. Besides the hull the best thing I did was the impeller. My SN came with an aftermarket stainless impeller, I believe it was a nujet and it was a night and day difference going to the hooker even when I had it in the SN. The freak runs 49.16 mph on the top end and hits fairly hard on the bottom. Plus since its all stock it still has the yamaha run forever durability. Of course I have a pipe sitting here waiting to go on and trim, and since I will be in there maybe a 144mag.

As far as bang for the buck you could start with getting your cylinders freestyle ported. Of course going to a big bore power valve cylinder would be better. Just depends how much you want to spend. You could gain a little bit from the impeller, but you might want to wait till you get a hull. The 08+ impeller is already stainless and from reading on here it sounds like a pretty good impeller for a factory impeller. I just went for a 9/15 right off the bat as I only really cared about low end, but if your going to do more of a modified motor the 9/15 might be too low once you get a lightweight hull.

Two is definitely better. Backup for when you break the good ski. Swimming back to the dock sucks, but its so much better when you can just hop on the backup ski and go back out.

Thanks again for everyone's input. I made a deal with the devil. A week long trip to Disney in 2017 for the family in exchange for a new hull now. New plan is buy a hull then when I have the funds together drop in a PHP powermouse with total loss. Any input on a hull? I want something more focused on freeride but able to flip too. The Superfreak Badass is my top choice but its $$$.

For a do everything well freeride hull that can flatwater flip, I would be going with a Phantom!

I'm going to have to second what ducky said. I can ride surf and flat without issue. It's not a nose high ski, super stable ride. To top it all off, Josh has some of the best customer service in the industry. His fit and finish is fantastic. For sure a good one to consider, specially since you can get a glass one for 4k.
