help performance problems

well need some advice here ...this is what i have after running my sn all day seems like something isnt right i added dual cooling meaning tha i t'd a line off the top of headpipe going to the bottom of chamber for a second by pass fitting already had one off top of protec head but it seems to get hotter with the second one i added. also having all the new stuff i put in it (701 , protec head, and pipe, msd enhancer, lighten flywheel, skat trak 13/17 impeller, lps waterbox,sbn44 carb) it still dosent seem that much faster then the 650 that was orginally in it except top end other then that seems like it should be a noticable differance am i missing something here it runs good plugs are burning great i have 135 main and 115 low.....any advice i know i can do more to it but it seems it should just have more!!

Sounds like you just ran half cooling instead of dual cooling. You're just recirculating hot water instead of using the nice cool water from outside the boat... Dual cooling can be done two ways but the most popular is two lines running from the pump to the exhaust manifold, one out of the head to the pisser, and one to the pipe (redundant cooling). I don't understand the other way as it's not as popular but either way you slice it...dual cooling requires two lines coming from the pump which gives you two sources of fresh water.

If the engine seems to pull harder up top but a little sloppy on the bottom, I'd venture to guess you have a crankcase leak.

why would it get worse hooking up a second line it wasnt as bad with just with one by pass and the performance but protec told me to do this ...they plugs are good ive had crankcase leaks before on other 2 strokes and the first sign is usally the plugs look lean any other help?

Please snap a picture of your cooling lines because I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly what you did...especially since I can't figure out where sentences start and end.

The plugs don't tell the whole story. I had 3-4 big air leaks in my 750 and if you pulled the plugs, you'd swear I was running so rich I risked fouling the plugs.

ill get them for ya, also i didnt change the spring in the carb its still the stock 650 set up but the jets. would this have anything to do with it as well, pop off psi
