Super Jet HELP...stripped pump mounting inserts

I took my pump off and all the female threads were corroded (no loctite or silicone from previous owner, 96 RN). The rear two bolt holes are fine but the front two are in bad shape. One of them is stripped 3/4 of the way (bolt stays in but does not provide any holding force) and the other is very close to stripping (5-8 lb of torque on the bolt). If anyone has experience with this problem please provide some insight. I'm debating between helicoli it or cutting the tray and installing a new threaded insert.

helicoil, just be careful when you drill out, drill doesnt burst through top of tray - but if all fails, just cut thru tray and replace it

Helicoil should be fine though

I gotta fix mine too, I rode the whole season with 3 bolts out of 4. Need to helicoil it.

Im thinking about just riding it how it is but I know i have to fix it eventually.

Or you can tap it to a different size and use a different bolt.

I helicoiled all four of mine, but the inserts were on the bench when I did it... I also used the courser thread so bolts were easier to find. The stainless helicoils will be so much stronger than stock!

Ouch. Hopefully they will fix up without cutting the tray apart to replace them.
