I would definitely suggest that any time a ski's engine bay fills up that much that you remove the plugs before trying to crank it over.
might need to install a bilge pump
Or just run a garden hose up your pole and suck on it while you ride. Peace!
What is done to the holes on the front of the stock hood. I see the liner and tubes were changed too but I was thinking that the breather tubes being so high into the hood keep the water out. I wouldn't want to mod my liner but I'd take your advice on the front holes.Just trying to help. Sounds like you got it figured out. Here's a modified stock fx1 hood and a WDK hood. Both have only rear holes and have supplied air to much larger engines.

Best way to fix a water intrusion problem is to prevent it from coming in 1st.... Pump n dump 2nd.. Bilge pumps will help for sure. Or just run a garden hose up your pole and suck on it while you ride. Peace!
Your totally right on that I was thinking the front lets the water in but ofcourse the holes on the top that pour right into the breather tubes. Ill tape the holes and see how it works out and probably end up having someone teach me how to do a permanent cover up with glass. Thanks for the advice it will be obnoxious when it doesn't let water in and I can fountain all day without sinking. My girlfriend took initiative to keeping my hood onOne of the best old school fx1 riders I've ever witnessed had his front and top holes covered with clear packing tape. His hood liner was reenforced with piece of lexan glued to the plastic. He would sub and disappear til the water went calm.... Pop up and do it again. The front holes could be left open i guess but I would for sure cover those top holes by the fire extinguisher. They let way to much water in for freestyle. Tape em up and give it a try.
