Freestyle Home build hulls e.c. of a RN

Hey guys

Are there more people that made a square nose just as good looking as rick roy? If you have a link please post me, i love to read this.

How do the home build freestyle ski's compare to a aftermarket hull?

I think it would be a shame to cut up my RN. the SN are not that expansive. Maby it's a nice winter project for me :)

I love wat RR did with the nose and hood!

Fond this article about RR http://www.rpmfactor.com/coverage/2010/rick_roy/

Greetings,

When you chop up a ski and do that much modifciation you generally add more weight than what the original hull even weighed.
IMO after material cost and time spent, you're better off just paying a professional hull builder for a quality built hull. They use better techniques like vacuum bagging and make the hull light and strong. You also have the opportunity to upgrade from regular fiberglass to full carbon. Some of these carbon hulls are like 50-60 pounds.

Title is wrong sorry for that, I mean a sn. Ill change it tomorrow haha.

If you build it good, I think it would weigh less..

Hulls are hard to find here. Super rare and expensive.

^^ lol, I really need to update the build thread put some more "finished" type pictures on there.

Hey Dutchie, if you got the time and enjoy projects build your own!!!
just gotta have a little bit of vision and inspiration, anything is possible.
My only tip, plan ahead and when in doubt do one extra layer of cloth.

and for those saying you would add weight if you build ... thats a lie, well it wont be no 60 lbs carbon hull it can be a 90 lbs glass hull easy.

Your ski is not my taste but nice build ! Thanx for the advise !

I think X-sream stole your nose in their new hull :p

I think all cut hulls will be nose high, but a aftermarket hull super nose high. So that is not an issue for me :)

If I were to do another stock hull, I would only take off 2" from the back. I took 5" off of mine and it was fun when going slow, playing around doing tricks. But wasn't fun at all trying to chase boats and wakes. Very porpoisy. In hind sight I would have liked to have tried a reversu D cut like plate and see how that would have effected it.

My SN rode great once I got used to it. I chopped 4 inches off the back and ended up putting a stock length rideplate back on to chase boats with ease. The shortened hull with the longer rideplate allowed me to bring the nose up with ease when I wanted but then plant it if I wanted to chase a boat. Overall the ride still doesnt compare to an a/m hull but was still much more fun than stock.
