FX-1 Hood flare not fitting well

Anyone had trouble with their hood flaring out on the sides towards the middle? This is not allowing it to seat in the hood lip. Wondering if it's possible to apply a little heat and flex it back so it is more narrow.

Did you have your ski sitting upside down without the hood....like sitting on saw-horses or something? If so, the seal probably got pushed in.

I've had this happen and if you get the hood on properly (I used a popsicle stick and silicon spray), the seal will get "re-trained" and it will get easier and easier to get the hood on.

It's a new hood seal. It is bowed out so that both sides flare all the way out to the fiberglass channel. Since the hood seal is new I can see having to train it but I can't even force the hood to be centered in the channel at the moment.

Looks like I took off 3/4 of an inch let see if the memory holds up long term. I'm taking her home for a fit now. Thank goodness for giant ovens

Much better. That is a tight fit with a new seal, had to lay my chest across it to clamp the latch. I'll let it sit for a day all snugged up.

DB we have a growing machine shop for making prototype retail displays. That oven is about 3 hrs old, it needed to be tested anyway.... It works.

Swap clamp it and leave it in your car on a hot day this summer you might be able to get it hot enough to do the trick. I had to over tighten it to about 17" width in the center and then it relaxed from there after it cooled.

How's that ski running haven't seen any updates hopefully it because you've been too busy on the water.
